He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Welter and Laverne Welter; and his brother Keith Welter. He is survived by: his wife Belinda Hobart; his children, Scott Bullen (Welter), Ronald Welter (Emily) and Mikey Lynn Bullen (Welter); his stepsons, Joshua Hobart and Kenny Peterson; his grandchildren, Landon Hobart, Zo Welter and Zayden Welter; and his siblings, William Welter, Michael Welter, Susan Sadowski and Gail Conwell. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
