He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward and Laura Gilbert Sr. (Bertram); his wife Marian Kopetsky; his stepmother Hildegarde Gilbert; his siblings, Gerald Gilbert and Carol Klabunde; and his siblings-in-law, Janis Gilbert, Marvin Kopetsky (Genal), Arnold Kopetsky (Marty), John Kopetsky and LuAnn Kopetsky.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Statezny (Glen) of Antigo, Karen Suick (Steve) of Antigo, Cheryl Barwick (Dave) of Schofield, Chris Gilbert (Jenny) of Tucson, AZ and Rory Gilbert (Alice) of Cottage Grove, MN; his brother LeRoy Gilbert of Antigo; and his brothers-in-law, Allen Kopetsky of Two Rivers and Roger Klabunde of Neenah. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
