She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Burckle and Sophia Burckle; her parents-in-law, Otto Nelson and Elsie Nelson; and her sisters, Edward Burckle, Peggy Helander (Art), Donna Zilles, Jerome Nelson, Anita Nelson, Flora Roos, Preston Jones and Leroy Lutzke.

She is survived by: her spouse Gerald "Jerry" Nelson; her children, Jay Nelson (Sherry Stout) of Two Rivers and Susan Kubacki (Kevin) of Antigo; her grandchildren, Jean Nelson (Bob Aspach), Andrew Nelson, Rebecca Kubacki and Marnie Kubacki; her great grandchildren, Ignatz Jean and Bobbi Jean; her brother-in-law Millie Burckle of Fond; and also, Norma Lutzke of Two Rivers, Marion "Mitzie" Nelson of Manitowoc and Roger Zilles of Green Bay. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
