He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Ellis and Grace Ellis; his significant other Grace Ellis (Gracie); his siblings, Gerald Ellis and Patricia Riley; his sons, Randall and Russell Ellis; and his friends, Marvin and Phyllis Clark.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Ellis Jr. (Gail) and Roberta Hawley; his sisters, Dorothy Elrod and Donna Martinson; his grandchildren, Sara Anderson (Daniel), Jessica Hawley (Joseph), Lindsay Swatzyna (Buck), Angela Lupi (Daniel) and Brian Ellis (Heidi); his great grandchildren, Vinny, Pia, Penelope Lupi (Peanut), McKenna, Payton, Quinn Anderson, Leo Ellis, Ireland and Andi Swatzyna; and his great great grandchild Blakely Moraux.
