He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Vernon H. Bistodeau and Delrose I. Bistodeau; his son David (Dana); his family, Patches, Sparky and Oakley; his wife Yvonne M. Strand; his sons, Michael (Jo) and Neil; his daughter-in-law Trudy Bartels (Scott); his grandson Sean (Joanna); his great grandchildren, Jacob and Nora; his grandchildren, Jamie, Jenna, Gavin and Maggie; his son Scott J. Bistodeau; and his siblings-in-law, Alvin and Yolanda Strand. He was also cherished by several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
