He was predeceased by: his parents, Manford Hammer and LaRene Hammer (Allen); his parents-in-law, Kenneth and Dorothy Johnson; and his brothers-in-law, Nelvin Johnson and Gary Ewers.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Johnson; his son Brian Hammer (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Addison and Caden; his children, Rob Hammer, Amelia, Olivia and Greg Hammer (Samantha Goodenough); his grandchildren, Jagger and Gavin; his siblings-in-law, Steve Johnson (Kathy), Mike Johnson and Barb Ewers; and his uncle Gary Allen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
