She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Sanders and Loretta Mae Sanders (Pulham). She is survived by: her husband Walter Meritt; and her siblings, Ron Sanders (Kathy) of Sparta, Lynn Sanders of Sparta and Gale Sanders (Carol) of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
