He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Behrens and Mary Behrens (Richards); his spouse Virginia R. Van Dyke (Baumbach); his siblings-in-law, Virginia, Boyd Zietlow, Inez and Wilbert Prell; and his nephew Dale Prell.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Garilyn Ellis (Don) of Fitchburg and Bruce Van Dyke (Barbara) of Kenosha; his grandchildren, Julie Thaxton (James), Diane Hession (Thomas), John Ellis, Jennifer French (James), Christopher Van Dyke, Jeffry Van Dyke and Nichole Escalera (Gilberto); his godson Darrell Zietlow (Suzanne); and his niece Joan Byrne. He is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, and 2 great great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.
