He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman and Adella Schmidt Sr. (Ortner); and his siblings, Mary Ann Schmidt (Elmer), Ada Zehren (Ben), Esther Pauls (Andrew), Mae Sovinski (Melvin) and Herman Schmidt Jr. (Diana). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
