He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Sarafin and Eleanor Sarafin (Malinowski); his wife Laura F. Sarafin; his son Scott Sarafin; his stepgranddaughter Elizabeth Miner; and his brothers, Ed, Harold and Joe Sarafin.

He is survived by: his children, Donald Sarafin of St. Paul, MN, Dale Sarafin (Sheila) of River Falls, Stewart Sarafin (Deb) of Stanley, Corinne Gustafson (Douglas) of Stanley and Patrick Sarafin of Cadott; his sister Sophie Kurdis of Chicago; and his siblings-in-law, Bernice Solie (Cedric) of Thorp, Josephine Sarafin of Thorp and Leon Placzkowski (Pauline) of Port Ludlow, WA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
