Tyler Lang-Mauseth Obituary

Tyler Lang-Mauseth of Sussex WI passed away at home on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at the too young age of 40.

Born on October 24, 1984 in Marshalltown Iowa, he was the eldest of two sons to Lisa Lang and Norman "Norm" Mauseth. Growing up, Tyler and his brother Adam both loved spending time at the Lang farm with their grandparents, Urban and Gwen, with whom he was especially close. Tyler's passion for learning, curious nature, and exceptional intellect were sparked at a young age by Grandma Gwen through their mutual love of reading books and the encyclopedia together.

After graduating from Marshalltown High School in 2003, he went on to attend The University of Iowa, where he studied English and graduated with his bachelor's degree in 2009. At the time of his passing, Tyler worked in Product Development for JP Morgan Chase. He took great pride in his work and professional accomplishments, which allowed him to showcase his creative talents as well as his business acumen. Throughout his career, he formed many successful relationships and left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.

Tyler had a lifelong love of music and all sports. Attending concerts and touring the country with his best friends and bandmates in his youth; playing Rugby for The University of Iowa throughout his college career; organizing the Snow Dogs Charity Flag Football Tournament in 2012 and his family's annual Fantasy Football league; watching the Chicago Cubs win the 2016 World Series; attending Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers games in celebration of his 30th birthday, where he got to see his favorite basketball player, LeBron James; and taking both of his kids to each of their first baseball games were among his most treasured experiences.

Tyler married the love of his life, Danielle (Nauman), in 2014. Together they grew their beautiful family, welcoming their daughter Gwendolyn "Gwen" in 2016, and son Kellen in 2022. They all loved making new family memories through travel and hiking in the "forest" behind their house and by exploring Wisconsin's state parks. Tyler and Gwen loved keeping track of their travels on the family Wisconsin State Parks map, marking a flower tack after returning from each new state park visited. One of their favorite and most frequented spots was Lion's Den Gorge, where they would hike and collect rocks along Lake Michigan.

Tyler's greatest joy in life was becoming a dad and his children were the light of his life. He was an expert claw machine enthusiast, winning many stuffies for Gwen and Kellen out of every machine he encountered. His favorite time of day was snuggle-time, and he would often write little notes for the kids when leaving early for work, to make sure they knew how much he loved them and was thinking about them.

Tyler is survived by his wife Danielle; their children Gwen and Kellen; his mother Lisa and her life partner Kevin Schwartz of Marshalltown Iowa; nieces Lily and Mila Mauseth of Davenport Iowa; and many other beloved family members and close friends. He was preceded in death and is now reunited with his father Norm; brother Adam; and grandparents Urban, Gwen, Inez, and Robert.

Services to celebrate Tyler's life will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Sussex (W250N6505 Hwy 164). Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, with a Funeral Service to follow at 5:15pm.
