Simon George Kostiz Jr. Obituary
Simon George Kostiz Jr., resident of Sussex, Wisconsin died 1/26/2024 at the age of 81. He was born to Simon and Katherine (Klaric) Kostiz on April 18, 1942. He attended Washington High School in Milwaukee, and spent six years as a Marine Reserve. He received his Associate's degree and spent his career as Director of Credit for GE, Schlitz, Stroh's and Ocean Spray. He spent the remainder of his career as a Real Estate agent for Coldwell Banker.
He married Barbara Bree in 1977 and they were happily married for 46 years. Together they raised four children: Kathryn (Ed), Chris (Janet), Lauri (Scott), Jamie (Lance). Simon is survived by his wife Barbara, their children and grandchildren: Zach, Adam, Michael, William, Nick, Cameron, Maria, Brooke, Matthew, Sarah, Amanda, Jacob, Noel, Alex, Benji, and Charlie; brother Eugene Kostiz; and many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws who he adored. He was preceded in death by his son Bradley Kostiz and parents Katherine and Simon.
Simon was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in March 2014. He fought courageously and was a ten year survivor. He lived life to the fullest, enjoyed his family, golf and boating. He gave it his all throughout his life, was very meticulous and worked hard in every aspect of his life.
The family would like to thank all of the healthcare workers from ProHealth that we have crossed paths with over the years. A special thank you to ProHealth Hospice, specifically Deanna RN. In accordance with his wishes, there will be a celebration of life with his immediate family.
