Ruth F. Youngbauer Obituary

Peacefully passed away at her longtime home surrounded by family on December 12, 2023, at the age of 96. Ruth was born in Menomonee Falls on July 17, 1927, a daughter of the late William and Elisabeth "Lillian" (nee Hansen) Bogue. She married the love of her life, Charles Youngbauer, on October 6, 1951. The devoted couple made their home in Sussex and set down deep roots in the area. They raised their eight children in the village, and both never lived in another town. Ruth and Charles were active members of St. James Catholic Church and the Sussex community throughout their lives. Ruth was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was incredibly proud of her family and would never miss an opportunity to attend their games, plays, graduations, and weddings. Time spent with her family was a source of profound joy throughout her long life.

She was also a strong and independent woman. Ruth helped keep her family together after Charlie passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52. Throughout her life, she always taught the importance of family and passed this value on to her children and grandchildren.

Ruth enjoyed playing hearts with the St. Gerard card club for over 60 years; traveling, especially her annual trips to Door County and Minocqua; shopping with family and friends, watching local high school and college basketball; and spending time with her ever-growing family. Memories with Ruth during the holidays, lazy summer days on Pewaukee Lake, family vacations from Iowa to Colorado, Sequence and dominoes matches, dinners around her table, and countless other precious memories and moments will live on with those who knew and loved her.

Ruth will be dearly missed by her children, Scott (Nancy) Youngbauer, Steven (Pam) Youngbauer, Susan (Michael) Brazy, Sharon (John) Schwitz, Thomas Youngbauer, Terry (Dawn) Youngbauer, Richard Youngbauer, Barbara (Stephen) Ryczek; grandchildren Joseph (Shawna) Youngbauer, Katelynn (Zach) Strickler, Stephanie (Luke) Lovell, Stacey (Michael) Karl, Sarah (Daryl) Williams, Laura (Zach) Chartrand, Jennifer (Tom) Anderson, David Brazy, Jessica (Tim) Geschke, Joshua Schwitz, Tifanie Bethel, Brooke (Dan) Allen, Kayla (David) Athy, Alli Youngbauer, Nicholas (MacKenzie) Ryczek, Benjamin Ryczek, and Sarah Ryczek; great-grandchildren Addelyn, Malia, Kyla, Tegan, Beckett, Remy, Silas, Henry, Will, Macy, Hunter, Kendall, Charlotte, Ada, Jack, Emery, Ronald Jr., Ryland, Grace, Gianna, AJ, Elliot, Harper, Rory, Barret, Nora, and Canyon; sister, Patricia Nettesheim; sisters-in-law Jeanne (Richard) Schmidt and Judy Bogue, and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, parents, brother, William, and sister, Elizabeth.

The family is grateful to the Aurora Home Hospice for their compassionate care of Ruth over this past year.

The visitation for Ruth will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 9AM until the time of the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial, at St. James Catholic Church, W220 N6588 Town Line Rd., Menomonee Falls, WI, 53051. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. James Catholic Church or the Parkinson's Foundation are appreciated.
