Ronald D. Konkel Obituary
Of Sussex, died on November 17, 2024, at the age of 81 years. Ron was born on December 4, 1942, a son of Alois and Emily Konkel. A dedicated employee he worked as a Manager in Manufacturing for over 40 years. Ron married the love of his life, Maryann Nowak on April 20, 1968. Together they made their home and raised their family in West Allis, later settling in Sussex. An avid outdoorsman, he could often be found fishing, gardening, or perhaps visiting Shawano. He also loved taking in a good football or basketball game. Ron had a kind heart, gentle spirit, and a great sense of humor. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially meeting his great-grandson. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Ron is survived by his wife, Maryann Konkel; children, Kevin Konkel, Jodi (Ryan) Deutscher; grandchildren, Alec (Shirley) Konkel, Dylan Konkel, Marissa Konkel, Zach Deutscher, Anna Konkel and Josh Deutscher; great-grandson, Elías ́Konkel; sister, Joyce Hartmann; sister-in-law, Sue (Gary) Cox; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friend. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, James Hartmann, and best friend and fishing buddy, Gerald Nowak.
The visitation for Ron will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 11AM until the time of the Memorial Service with Military Honors at 12:30PM at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home on HWY 164 in Sussex.
