Lyle N. Wollin Obituary
Lyle N. Wollin, age 85, joined his wife Janice in eternal life on December 19, 2023. Lyle is survived by his children; son James, daughter Gail (Michael) Ziegler, daughter Cheryl (Robert) Piper, grandchildren Amanda (Louis) Venti, Daniel (Kynsea) Ziegler, Steven Ziegler, Sarah (fiancé Brandon Martyniak) Piper, Aaron Piper; great grandchildren Addilyn Venti, Elyse Venti, Crew Ziegler; sister-in-law Ruthann Kuehl; niece Lisa Tatman and nephew Jeffrey Kuehl.
Lyle, the son of Norman and Mavis Wollin, was born in Shawano, Wisconsin, on March 28, 1938. He graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1956. Upon graduation he started working at Blue Cross in the Data Network Department. Eventually he managed the Telecommunications Department. Lyle married his high school sweetheart, Janice, on November 7, 1959, and together they had three beautiful children. He retired from Blue Cross / Blue Shield in 2000.
Lyle learned to play the accordion when he was 9 years old and continued to play through the later years of his life. He enjoyed boating, fishing at the family cottage on Boulder Lake, bowling, following NASCAR races and spending time with his wife, Janice. They both enjoyed cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers.
Lyle will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a hard worker, displaying a strong work ethic and dedication to his job. He wanted to provide the best for his family, which he did! Lyle was preceded in death by Janice, his loving wife of 64 years; his parents, Norman and Mavis, and infant sister, Sharon; in-laws, Elroy and Edith Kuehl; brother-in-law, Chuck Kuehl.
A funeral service will be held on Friday December 29th, at Peace Lutheran Church, W240N6145 Maple Ave, Sussex, at 11 AM. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, with a luncheon shortly after.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Peace Lutheran Academy in Sussex would be appreciated.
