Keith D. Helm Obituary

Born into eternal life on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the age of 61. Devoted husband of Lori (nee Malucha) for 37 years. Loving father of Ben (Laura) Helm and Bradley (Emily Hendersen) Helm. Cherished grandfather of Charlie, Beatrice, Wes and Rain. Beloved son of his late parents Walter "Dale" and Alice Helm. Dear brother of Lisa Helm. Treasured son-in-law of Magdalena (the late Josef) Malucha. Brother-in-law of Jim (Kelly) Malucha, Joe (Julie) Malucha, Linda Malucha, Lisa (Adam) Fronek and the late Lolita King. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Keith was born in Milwaukee and grew up in West Allis. He graduated from West Allis Central High School (Class of 1981) and UW-Whitewater (Class of 1985). He started his career as a CPA with Piasecki and Associates, and during this time, he met his future wife. They got married in 1988, and in the following years, welcomed their two sons into the world. He had a robust career, which saw him launch his private practice (Liberty Accounting Services), where he worked for over 30 years. He also developed partnerships with Green Hotels/Ecovision (in Costa Rica) and Food Ingredients Inc., where he served as CFO. Over the years, he formed and cherished many other personal and professional relationships with his beloved clients.

The Helm family lived in Sussex from 1995 through 2020, until Keith and Lori built their forever home in Rome, WI. Wherever he was, Keith's top priorities were his Faith, Family and Friends. His greatest pride was becoming Opa/Grandpa Keith and spending time with his grandkids. Keith's kindness, charitable acts and generosity knew no bounds, as he served on various board positions in the community and was active in his church. He loved all sports (especially the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers) and enjoyed coaching, mentoring, spectating and heckling.

His most memorable pastimes included hosting family and friends at the lake, taking the boat out, enjoying campfires at the HB and grilling out. His favorite nights were spent watching the sunset and sipping a nice glass of wine with his wife. He loved wearing his lederhosen, hoisting his stein, prosting, and sharing Gemütlichkeit at German Fest. Nature and traveling were particularly important to Keith, as he always looked forward to being outside, deer hunting and getting another stamp in his passport.

Keith took on many different roles for countless people throughout his life, and although we all feel blessed to have known him, he always said that he was the blessed one. Now that his journey has ended here on Earth, we find comfort in knowing that he is with loved ones and his Lord and Savior.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15 from 3-6PM with the memorial service to follow at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home – Sussex (W250 N6505 Hwy 164). Keith will be laid to rest privately at a later date at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Keith's name to Tricia's Troops (https://triciastroops.org) or your local food pantry are greatly appreciated.

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' - Acts 20:35, Visitation Tuesday, April 15, 2025 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Schmidt & Bartelt Sussex, W250 N6505 Hwy 164 Sussex, WI 53089 Phone: (262) 246-4774.
