Elizabeth Michaelis Obituary
Elizabeth Michaelis, 40, of Sussex, WI passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on April 19, 2022 after a nearly three year battle with non-small cell lung cancer. She was born in Oconomowoc, WI and preceded in death by her parents Richard and Mary Vanderwerker.
She is survived by her husband Eric, children Clayton (age 8) and Miles (age 5), sister Sarah (Jim) Burd, Matthew (Julia) Vanderwerker, Amanda (Christopher) Hauglie and her nieces and nephews.
As a child she enjoyed going on trips with her family to Lake Michigan, and Duluth, MN. Later in life she was passionate in beauty and skincare and became an esthetician at Azana Salon in Brookfield, WI, where she worked for 15 years. She married the love of her life in Maui, Hawaii in 2013. Liz loved to travel with her family and had a passion for visiting National Parks. Her favorite parks included: Yellowstone, Smoky Mountains, Grand Tetons, Custer State Park, Badlands, Rocky Mountains and the Grand Canyon. She also enjoyed the beach and traveled several times to Florida with one of her favorite places being San Diego, CA. She also enjoyed nature and long walks in the woods. She loved spending time with her beautiful children and we are thankful for all the family memories we had together.
Elizabeth had a one-of-a-kind personality, infectious laugh, and was incredibly caring. She was the best mother and wife who was taken from us far to soon. We will love her forever and she will never be forgotten.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Froedert Medical College for their compassion and care.
Per her wishes no service will be held and she will cremated with her ashes spread on her 10 year wedding anniversary in Maui, Hawaii.
In lieu of flowers donations to her family can be made here: https://gofund.me or directly to the Lungevity Foundation.
