Elaine Mary Schuenemann Obituary
Born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Gene. Loving mother of Karen (Tom) Franczyk, Dave (Jody) Schuenemann and Kristine (Ken) Higgins. Cherished grandmother of 14 and 22 "plus" great-grandchildren. Dear mother-in-law of Nathalie Schuenemann. Further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Dan.
Elaine was born on January 6, 1932 to Thorval "T.A. Jerry" Jarr and Myrtle Jarr (nee Willinger) in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from St. Anne Catholic Grade School, Washington High School and three years at Mount Mary College, all in Milwaukee. She married Gene Schuenemann on June 20, 1953. Elaine was an administrative assistant at Milwaukee Public Schools for 25 years. She was a Girl Scout Leader at Our Lady of Sorrows School, Religious Education Teacher at St. Margaret Mary School, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Margaret Mary Church in Milwaukee and Good Shepherd Church in Menomonee Falls. She also held office in several public organizations. Her favorite activities included prayer, puzzles and poems.
Visitation for Elaine will be held on Friday, July 12 from 1PM until time of Memorial Service at 2PM at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home – Sussex; W250 N6505 Hwy 164. She will be privately laid to rest next to Gene at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Smile Train are greatly appreciated. (https://www.smiletrain.org).
