Barbara Kostiz Obituary
Barbara Ann Kostiz, resident of Sussex, Wisconsin died 3/10/2024 at the age of 72. She was the beloved first-born daughter of Harold and Veronica Bree, born on March 24, 1951. She attended West Division High School in Milwaukee. She spent her career working for Falk, Schlitz, Stroh's, and Froedtert Eye Institute from which she retired.
She married Simon Kostiz in 1977 and they were happily married for 46 years. Together they raised four children: Kathryn (Ed), Chris (Janet), Lauri (Scott), and Jamie (Lance). Barbara is survived by her children, her grandchildren: Zach, Adam, Michael, William, Nick, Cameron, Maria, Brooke, Matthew, Sarah, Amanda, Jacob, Noel, Alex, Benji, and Charlie; and brothers and sisters: Bob, Don, Diane, Sue, John, Joan, Jill, Rick, Judy, Dave, and Joe and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Simon Kostiz, son Bradley Kostiz, father Harold Bree, and brother Jim Bree.
Nothing made Barbara happier than being around the family. If you did not know that she was the oldest of thirteen siblings, then you likely never spoke to her! She told the best stories about when they were kids and all the neat parts that come with having a large family. She absolutely adored being around her family.
The family would like to thank all of the healthcare workers from Froedtert that we have crossed paths with over the years. A very special thank you to Dr. Hubley with Pulmonary and the rest of his team. Another special thank you to ProHealth Hospice, specifically Deanna RN and the staff at Angels Grace. In accordance with her wishes, there will be a celebration of life with family.
