He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nelson and Ella Nelson (Zahn); his daughter Wanda Rudie; his father-in-law Rodean Suring; and his brother-in-law Thomas Suring.
He is survived by: his uncles, Harry and Mobil; his wife Carol Suring; his children, Rodney Nelson (Christine) and Hope Schmidt (Eric); his grandchildren, Heather Rudie, Alyssa Green (Mike), Mandalyn Christensen (Jon), Wyatt Nelson (Kierstin Genz), Dylan Nelson and Temperance Schmidt; his son-in-law Todd Rudie (Gail); his mother-in-law Mavis Suring; and his brother-in-law Lee Suring (Gloria). He is also survived by cousins, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
