He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Vahl and Frances Vahl (Edl); and his siblings, Paula Saskowski (Ron) and Danny "Otto" Vahl. He is survived by: his wife Jean Schiller; his children, Jenny Andreasen (Steve), Matthew Vahl (Jackie), Brian Vahl (Sara), Julie Vahl and Joanne Vahl; his grandchildren, Bailey, Tyler, Lucy, Josh, Aaron, Ahren, Maddox and Jenna; his siblings, David Vahl, Cathy Carini (Stefano) and Carolyn Honeycutt (Bill); and his sister-in-law Linda Vahl. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

“I was shocked to see the article about Greg’s passing last November. I was a classmate of his back in St Nazianz. We played guitar masses together. Greg was a good guy who really liked music like I do. I think he was a much better musician than me. Sounds like he really stuck with it throughout life. My deepest sympathies to surviving family.
