She was predeceased by: her parents, John VanWagenen and Marguerite VanWagenen (Patterson); the father of her children Richard Obester; her husband Willard Petersen; her son-in-law Gary Steltz; and her sister Kay VanErt.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Sikorski (Bronko) of Duluth, MN, Mike Obester (Andrea) of Colorado and Betsy Steltz of Duluth, MN; and her grandchildren, Annie Compton (Michael), Matthew Black (Klair), Patrick Obester (Brittani), Kellan Obester, Bauer Obester, Casey Miner, Kaeli and Alexis Steltz. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church (1111 Belknap St, Superior, WI 54880). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
