He was predeceased by: his parents, Delores Kirkwood, (Wallin) and James W. Kirkwood, Sr.; his wife Kathleen; his siblings, Richard Kirkwood (Mary), Gerald Kirkwood (Patti), Debbie Gerding, Donna Ojala and Cindy Engstrom; and his nephews, Jason Kirkwood and Jerry Kirkwood.
He is survived by: his sisters, Kimberly Bunnell of Superior and Gina Rochon (Joe) of Solon Springs; his brothers-in-law, Gary Engstrom of Waconia, MN and Merrill Gerding, Jr. of Superior; and his former wife Joan Senn.
