He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Francis and Violet McKay; his wife Susan; his siblings, Jim, Bill, Marie Kuznia, Tom, Jack (Helen) and Margaret; and his brother-in-law Gary Krisak.
He is survived by: his daughters, Michelle Thimm (Kyle), Christine McKay and Mary Jo 'Moe' Miller (Dean); his grandchildren, Kaylee Ramel and Klayton Thimm; his sisters, Sis Stariha (Phil) and Kitty Krisak; and his sister-in-law Darlene McKay. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
