He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Nelson and Viola Nelson (Jorgenson); his wife Beverly Sherlock of Superior, WI; his son William Nelson; and his sister Evelyn Schafter.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Nelson (Cheryl) of New Richmond, WI, Kathy Swanson (Bruce) of Gordon, WI and Barbra Milroy (Scot) of Superior, WI; his daughter-in-law Peggy Nelson of Superior, WI; his siblings, Millie Burgraff of Bossier City, LA and Leroy Nelson (Judy) of Cloquet, MN; his grandchildren, Matthew Nelson (Kristi), Aaron Nelson (Yula), Brian Swanson (Andrea), Cory Nelson (Nichole), Ashley Anderson (Chris), Alexandra Taylor (Ethan), Hannah Ritthaler (Michael), Noah Milroy, Grace Milroy and Kaitlyn Waring (Zachary); and his great grandchildren, Caden, Felix, Hunter, Paisley, Micah, Ronan, Hendrix, Azaleah, Walker and Svea. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
