He is survived by: his wife Mary Rooney; his children, Denise Sorensen (Shawn) of Superior, WI., Renee Heytens (Patrick) of Superior, WI. and Kevin Peterson of Superior, WI.; his grandchildren, Nicole Sorensen of Eagen, MN, Grant Sorensen of Duluth, MN, Gabrielle Heytens O'Neill (Sean) of Vernona, WI, Julia Heytens of Minneapolis, MN, Chase Peterson of Duluth, MN, Torie Peterson, Matthew Peterson of Superior, WI, Phillip Sorensen (Morgan) of Superior, WI and Brian Sorensen (Katie) of Superior, WI; and his sister Patricia Compton of Mason, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church (1111 Belknap St, Superior, WI 54880). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
