She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Signe Salmi (Ahola) and Eino Salmi; her husband Jim; her sons, Matthew (Tammy), Peter (Patti), David (Laurie) and John (Stacey); her grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Cully, Joshua, Kaytlyn, Nick, Cole and Ella; her great grandchildren, Bentley, Brookston and Blakelynn; her brother Gerald Salmi; her sisters-in-law, Mary Wygant (Bob) and Barbara Cleary (Tom); and her close friends, Wendy Hickok, Linda Raboin, Rock Girls-Bonnie, Laurie, Ruth and Sandy.
She and Jim donated many years of service as the Concession Managers for the Superior Amateur Hockey Association at the old Municipal Rink.
