He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Bud" Twedell and Mary Twedell; his sister Susan Hirschy; his parents-in-law, Horace Buri and Lenore Buri; and his brother-in-law Donald Stengel (W. Robert Smith).

He is survived by: his wife Terry; his sons, Michael and James; his grandchildren, Lillian (Elliott) and Martin Kriewald (Sabine); his siblings, Michael Twedell (Mary Jane), Sarah Paulson (Thor) and Judy Denson; and his sisters-in-law, Connie Stengel and Wendy Sperberg (Larry). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
