He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Martin Hei and Mae Vande Hei (Secor); his wife Patricia A. Simonar; his children, Todd Vande Hei (Laura), Ann McIntyre (Rob) and Nick Vande Hei (Julie); his grandchildren, Jenny Hembree, Steven, Olivia Vande Hei, Andrew, Molly, Abby McIntyre, Tillie, Mary and Ray Vande Hei; his great grandchildren, Levi, Jameson and Lukas Hembree; his sisters, Doris Scholtz and Jean Bourgeois; his son Tim Vande Hei; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Schoultz, Grant Bourgeois and Jim Doyle. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
