She was predeceased by: her parents, John Gladen and Louise Gladen (Thorson); her husband Jack Nelson; her son Jack Jr.; and her daughter-in-law Patricia.

She is survived by: her daughter Pamela Fugina (John) of Sun Prairie; and her grandchildren, Charlie Tucker of Madison, Jenny Larson of Eau Claire, Nicole Ayres (Criag) of New Mexico and Tim Schroud (Jess) of Madison. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
