He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank and Mary; his sister Betty; his brother-in-law Leo Simones; his nephew Leo "Chip" Simones; and also Christopher.
He is survived by: his spouses, Pat and Fran; his children, Robert Sand (Tina) of Becker, MN, Elizabeth Nelson (Michael) of Oregon, WI and Amy Sand (Nate) of Mascoutah, IL; his grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Kathryn Nelson, Olivia Schmidt, Anna Schmidt, Jessica Sand and Lauren Sand; his siblings, James Sand (Christa) of Oak Ridge, TN and Kathleen Simones of Phillips, WI; and his nephews, Jake Sand, Michael Sand (Tabatha), Christopher Simones (Kimberlee), Patrick Simones (Melissa), Joseph Simones (Laura) and Benjamin Simones (Cristina).
In lieu of flowers memorials to Ascension Hospice are appreciated by the family.
