He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Prenger and Esther Prenger; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanne O'Harrow-Sowle and John Tait. He is survived by: his wife Claudette Prenger; his siblings, Thomas Prenger (Sallye) of Spokane, WA and Marilyn Keeven (Han) of Jefferson City, MO; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Miller, Barbara Tait and Thomas Tait Jr. (Jane). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
