He was predeceased by: his wife Judith F. Kaczmarek; his siblings, John Heier, Harry Heier, Clarice Strei (Alfie), Elsie Zorn (Laverne), Avis DeRoche (Al) and Joyce Drace; and his sister-in-law Jean Kaczmarek.
He is survived by: his sons, Dr. James Heier (Stephanie), Thomas Heier (Deborah), Robert Heier and William Heier (Kelly); his grandchildren, Patrick Stemper (Jessica), Lesley Washatko (Deakin), Wyatt Heier, Dylan Heier and Jackson Heier; his great grandchildren, Nolan Stemper, Milo Stemper, Avia Stemper, Ella Washatko, Kias Washatko and Ayda Washatko; his siblings, Lloyd Heier (Pat) and Shirley Belongia (Daniel); his siblings-in-law, Joseph Kaczmarek Jr., Michael Kaczmarek (Janet), Ken Drace, Kathy Heier and Marie Heier; and his godchildren, Mark Sheedy, Beth Sheedy, John Kaczmarek and Leah Wiesner.
He was Grand Knight of three different Knights of Columbus Councils (Pulaski, Howard, and Flintville) and resembled the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism every day.
