He is survived by: his grandchild Eagle Scout; his children, Scott Piper and Janet Ertel (Dean); his grandsons, Matthew Ertel (Christa Hartenstein) and Kevin Ertel (Michelle); his great grandchildren, Annie and Graham Ertel; and his siblings-in-law, Gail Spaulding (Daniel), John Apple (Karen) and Dean Apple (Jenny). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, the church family, and friends.
