He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Alfred and Mary Elizabeth. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl "Cheri" Growe; and his children, Theresa Blake, Timothy Carpenter, Michelle Menchaca, Megan Dickerson, Joe Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, Mark Pope, James Hoffman, Scott Hoffman, Tim Hoffman and Lynette Fox. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
