He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaston Verborg and Mae Verborg; his son Charles Verborg; and his brother Ron. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Newman; his children, Robert J. Verborg, Jr. and Alice Lauber (Gary); his grandchildren, Thomas, Lilith, Christopher, Sarah, Katie, John, Emily and Megan; his great grandchildren, Jordan and Anthony; his grandson Buddy; and his pet Shadow. He is also survived by the cats, and many other family members and friends.
