He is survived by: his wife Gail Ann Gross; his children, Linda Scheuer (Rod) of Mishicot, Laurie Bertram (Marc) of LaCrosse, Richard Jr. (Jennifer) of Cave Creek, AZ, Thomas "Tom" (Ann) of Neshotah, WI and Kelly Kostka (Rock) of Algoma; and his siblings, Dennis (Jane) of Beaver Dam, William (Sharon) of Fall River, Michael (Carol) of Beaver Dam, Elizabeth Kruizinger (Jim), Mary White (Wayne), Nancy Schaefer (Merv) and Kathy Nickel (Tom). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
