He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Mattie and Louise Mattie (Neimeyer); his wife Joyce; his son-in-law John Vanderhoof; his great grandchild Mollie Hansen; and his siblings, Arthur, Joseph, Arlene, Betty Sparacino (Phil) and Delores Wesa (Lloyd).
He is survived by: his children, Laurel Vanderhoof of Sturgeon Bay, Susan McKuen of Sturgeon Bay, Peggy Mattie of Milwaukee, Michael Mattie of Sturgeon Bay, Colleen Hrubesky (James) of Oconto, Rebecca Hansen (James) of Sturgeon Bay and Julie Mraz (Sturgeon Bay); and his sister-in-law Shirley Mattie. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
