Penelope Wawrzyniak Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Penelope Wawrzyniak (Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 19, 2018 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her brother Tom Schleg; and her sister-in-law Bev Schleg. She is survived by: her husband Gene; her children, Jennifer Dettlaff (Doug) of McFarland and Michael Wawrzyniak (Pam) of Lexington, VA; her grandchildren, Sophie Dettlaff, Sawyer Dettlaff, Adela Wawryzniak and Josh Wawryzniak; her brother Jim Schleg; and her sister-in-law Fran Schleg. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In honor of Penny's wishes, her brain was donated to the University of Wisconsin – Madison Brain Donor Program to aid in scientific research on Alzheimer's Disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment.
