She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Walker and Grace Walker (Maccaux); her husband Andrew Martin Hartel; her son-in-law Wallace "Wally" Kudick; her granddaughter Lisa Kudick; her siblings, Morris Walker (Jean), Wallace Walker, Kenneth Walker (Arlene), Francis Walker (Hazel) and Merlin Walker; and her siblings-in-law, Walter Lasee, RoseMarie Hartel, Harry Hartel (Kathleen), Albert Hartel (June), Doris Duerst (Milton), Clara Vogel (Clarence), Irene McKnight and Rita Mitchell (Art).
She is survived by: her children, Andrew Hartel, Jr. (Lisa) of Sturgeon Bay, Randall Hartel (Phyllis) of Baileys Harbor, Bernadette "Bernie" Kudick Malvitz (Dave) of Sturgeon Bay, Michael Hartel of Algoma, Joseph Hartel (Shelley) of Woodbridge, VA and Patrick Hartel (Ann) of Appleton; her siblings, Bernice Lasee of Sturgeon Bay, Marvin Walker (Beth) of Sebring, FL, Georgianne Kodanko (Karl) of Oshkosh, Robert Walker of Buel, MN, Daniel Walker (Laurie) of Sturgeon Bay and Howard Walker of King; and her siblings-in-law, Doris Walker of Fort Atkinson, Judy Walker of Davison, MI, Roger Hartel (Marvel) of Sturgeon Bay, James Hartel (Colleen) of Lincoln City, OR, RoseMarie Smith (Robert) of Winter Haven, FL and Donn McKnight of Arroyo Grande, CA. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given in Mary's name for any Dementia (or Alzheimer's) or Cancer related association in honor of her fights with dementia and lung cancer (just recently).
