She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Hansen and Inga Hansen; her husband Ronald C. Nelson; and her sister Dorothy Winter. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Bollinger (Dan), Rhonda Clark (Loren), David Nelson (Caroline), Jeffrey Nelson (Celeste), Robert Nelson (Laura), Diana Haberkamp (Don), Laura Obermann (Pete) and Lisa Sprovieri (Anthony); and her sister Anne Sele. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great- grandchild.
