He was predeceased by: his mother Rose Ehlers (Thorn) of Sturgeon Bay; his former wife Evelyn Gray; his father Ed Ehlers; his son Lee Ehlers; his wife Bee Tiesling-Ehlers; and his siblings, Lucille Stoeger (Ernest), Ervin Ehlers (Mae), Leroy Ehlers (Erma), Bernice Ehlers, Clarence Ehlers, Clifford Ehlers and Jerome Ehlers.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Ehlers (Deborah), Dale Ehlers (Dian) and Don Ehlers (Christy); and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Ehlers. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
