He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gabert and Harriet Gabert (Birmingham); his sons, John and George; his siblings, Danny and Diane; and his niece Pam.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Porter; and his children, David Gabert (Kathy), Celia LaVenture (Randy), Susan Oliver, Cindy Cihlar, Julie Lau (Steve), Donna Porter (Steve Konrad) and Richard Porter (Rebecca). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 niece; and 2 nephews.
