He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Nelson and Clara Nelson (Olson); his sons, Kim Nelson and Kelly Nelson; his grandfather Oscar Olson; and his siblings, Jerald Nelson (Esther), Avis Gilman (Frank), Emerald Berg (Vernon), Cyrus Nelson (Eunice), Donald Nelson (Murcile) and Richard Nelson.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Samuelson; his children, Claudia Sather (David) of Wabasha, MN, Kent Nelson (Karen) of Strum, WI, Matthew Nelson (Ronnette) of Strum, WI, Bradley Nelson (Lisa) of Sheboygan Falls, WI, Roderick Nelson (Gena) of Sheboygan, WI, Melissa Dirker (Joe) of Howard's Grove, WI and Melinda Schultz (Chad) of Onalaska, WI; his daughter-in-law Sharon Nelson of Osseo; and his sister-in-law Nancy Nelson. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Weston's name.
