He was predeceased by: his father Jose Gonzalez; his son Ruben Gonzalez, Jr.; his sister Rebecca Vela; and his parents-in-law, Francisca Gonzalez and Jose Villagomez.

He is survived by: his mother Catalina Gonzalez (Soto); his wife Maria Gonzalez; his children, Ana, Cecilia and Cesar; his grandchildren, Viktor and Vincint Juarez; and his siblings, Ramon, Rodolfo (Emma), Jose Gonzalez, Jr., Rosa Pequeño, Rosario Vela (Roberto), Raquel Gonzalez and Romelia Torres (Tony). He is also survived by nieces and nephews; and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Memorial contributions may be gifted to the family and will be given to the UW Carbone Cancer Center.
