He was predeceased by: his parents, Erick Alme and Amy Alme (Hermanson); his wife Tootsie Erickson; his siblings, Edgar Alme (Berdine) and Marion Gjertson (Merle); and his son-in-law Rich Zimmerman.
He is survived by: his children, David Alme (Jodi Halverson), Ann Hans, John Alme (Luann) and Mary Zimmerman; his grandchildren, Melanie Alme, Austin Alme (Jess), Carrie Glick (Dave), Krissy Baird (Zach), Jamie Russell (Jarren), Renee Sutkay (JD), Jenna Gaastra (Andy), Carly Zimmerman and Aaron Zimmerman (Bre Viken); his great grandchildren, Betsy, Eve Glick, Everett, Emerson, Eliza Baird, Olivia, Hazel Sutkay, Mason and Faye Gaastra; and his pet Heidi. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, or to the charity of one's choice in memory of Melvin.
