He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hansen and Adelia Hansen (Anderson); and his sister Karen Landerud. He is survived by: his wife Marylis Showers; his children, Mark Hansen (Cindy) and Mary Jo Frey (Eric); and his grandchildren, Shannon Appleby (Charlie), Sonia Carter (Jake), Matthew Frey (Krista), Curt Frey (Bao) and David Frey (Katherine). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Joe donated his body to the UW-Madison School of Medicine. In lieu of flowers, Joe's family asks that you carry on his tradition of helping those in need.
