He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Nelson and Nora Nelson; and his siblings, Roy Nelson (Jeanette) and JoAnn Grefsheim. He is survived by: his wife Betty Schwersinske; his children, Sherry Johnson and Kevin "Pony" Nelson; his granddaughter Brook McGettigan (Pat); his great grandchild Una; and his sister Donna Strandlie (Roger). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
