He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Ortlieb and Mildred Ortlieb (Stevens); his children, Gilbert Jr. and Thomas; his brothers, Ernest and Donald Ortlieb; and his son-in-law Steven Schwab.
He is survived by: his significant other Rosemary; his children, Marilyn Schwab, Judy Ortlieb, Jerry Ortlieb (Tami Verhagen) and Dave Ortlieb (Pat); his grandchildren, Crystal Rueth (Randy), Kaitlyn Winkler (Matt), Holly Bolz (Eric), Nathan Ortlieb (Andrea) and Nick Ortlieb (Marcy); his great grandchildren, Rogan, Ryson, Teagan, Ben, Khloe, Emerson, Ariana, Evelyn, Emmett, Audrina and Zoe; and his sister-in-law Cecelia Hoelzel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
