He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores Richmond; and his siblings, Fritz, David, Harry and Doris.
He is survived by: his children, Ed and Mary Bernhagen; his children-in-law, Cliff and Kelsey; his grandson Cole; his sisters-in-law, Laura and Barb; and his family, Wigs, Dewey, Spade, Libby and Boo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family plans to set up charitable donations to causes important to Vernon. Information for how to donate will be released by the family at a later date.
